  • Smoking and use of fire during refueling of an automobile gas installation is strictly forbidden;
  • It is not permitted to fill in more than 80% of the geometrical volume of the tanks for liquefied petroleum gas;
  • It is not permitted to tighten or unwind conjunctions and nuts of the flexible hoses when under pressure, and to apply striking instruments during tightening or unwinding;
  • After filling of the tank, the air-tightness of the conjunctions of the pipelines and fittings must be checked with foaming substances;
  • Any attempt to modify or adjust automobile gas installation could be extremely dangerous and lead to fatal outcome.

Refueling of an automobile gas installation

1. The self-service of clients is strictly forbidden.
2. The presence of combustion sources in the area of the gas installation, including mobile phones, is strictly forbidden.

4. The approach of the automobiles for refueling is conducted in strict order, one at a time.
5. The approach to the terminal and the refueling are conducted only after switching over to petrol regime of the engine.
6. The automobile enters the station only with its driver.
7. The automobile approaches the gas terminal, its engine is turned off and it is secured against unexpected movement through engaging the first gear and handbrake.
8. Automobile gas installations could be refueled only in the case that LPG tanks are within the periodical expiry date marked on them (for period of 5 years), their installations are in good repair and a consistent connection is formed between the fueling pistol and the tank.
9. The refueling of damaged, marked as unfit, or surpassed the expiry date of the periodical check automobile LPG tanks is strictly forbidden.

11. During the refueling process, the indicator for the level of fuel in the automobile tank should be closely monitored as filling of more than 80% of the geometrical volume of the tank should not be allowed.
12. The presence of the certified operator during the refueling process is obligatory.
13. After the filling of the specified quantity - 80% of the capacity, the flexible hose is taken off the tank of the automobile. The filling pistol is put in the specially designed nest of the gas terminal and the filling orifice of the automobile tank is tightened.

Accidents and damages

If you sense the smell of garlic (coming from the odorizing agents), push the automobile to an open space without starting the engine. In case of escalation of the accident, it is mandatory to inform the organs of the Regional Unit for Fire Safety and Emergency, Regional Inspection for State Technical Control and/or Police and First Aid organs. In all cases, the direction of the wind is of utmost importance. The gas cloud spreads in the direction of the wind. Therefore, in case of evacuation, all people should move away to the opposite direction.

General principles in cases of accidents

Do not approach your garage or automobile with a lit cigarette or and open fire in hand. If you sense the specific smell of gas coming from the automobile in your garage, do not switch on the lights. Immediately switch off the electricity supply from the central control board in your home.

Notify the fire brigades and the police. Close the area for outside persons and evacuate the people from the neighboring buildings and premises. If the safety is not endangered, limit the leak and try to avoid possible fire, taking in mind the instruments and installations available.

Principles for actions in cases of leaks

In cases of significant leaks, if possible and safe in the given circumstances, wrap the place with a wet cloth, in order to create the ice ball effect. Be careful for cold burns - wearing of individual means for protection is mandatory. Do not allow the gas cloud to penetrate in sewers, ditches, basements. A water curtain should be devised in order to prevent the spreading of the gas cloud. The gas cloud can be directed and broken up using a strong water jet. Stay on the windward side; limit the access of other people.

Checking for gas leak

During checks for gas leaks, using of flame is strictly forbidden.

First aid in cases of cold burns  - pour excessive quantities of water over the place until the pain relieves; carefully remove the clothes around the damaged place; put on a clean dry dressing; do not use ointments in any case; call for qualified medical assistance; keep the place dry and clean until it heals.
